OUR STORY

 

Ability Builders is a child of a dream dreamt in the early 2000s. We had a simple philosophy: give it the best we had and produce timely and quality work that came from the heart!

 

We grew from a small room in Flushing, NY with one employee to a thriving organization employing dozens of individuals and contracting with hundreds of therapists, teachers, social workers, psychologists, and other professionals!  

 

More importantly, we have, throughout our decade-long existence, survived and thrived in NYC and helped improve the lives of thousands of families and children through our work!

 

Moving from the borough of the Bronx, we were soon serving all the 5 boroughs of NYC. By some measure, it can be said that the small dream hatched in Flushing is now a reality! And quoting Sinatra, if we can make it here...

Ability Builders for Children, LLC believes that all children deserve the opportunity to grow and develop to their full intellectual, emotional, and physical potential.  

 

While we recognize the child’s strengths and inherent worth as an individual, we also maintain that a child only achieves his/her greatest potential if he/she is viewed in the context of the family and the community.  

 

We are committed to providing the highest quality service possible and we believe that this can be achieved through a family-centered, timely, and results-oriented philosophy.

Our Staff

 

We are continually nourished by the ideas, knowledge, and dedication that come from the rich diversity of the city we live in, a diversity that is reflected in the people who drive our company forward.

 

We are staffed by dedicated and hardworking individuals first and second-generation immigrants from Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe! We represent dozens of different ethnic groups and almost a dozen different languages! This diversity and openness is no doubt one of the cornerstones of our success!

 

We understand that although a majority of the residents of this city speak and understand English, it is always easier to communicate with someone who speaks your language. In this respect, we have you covered because we speak your language!

 

We have staff who speak Spanish, French, Bengali, Urdu, Hindi, Tagalog, Cebuano, Russian, Ga, Twi, Arabic and Ewe. We also have interpreters and consultants who can complete evaluations or provide services in many more languages!

 

Because of our deep immersion and knowledge of different cultures and religions, we are also able to take these factors into account when providing our brand of customer service. Most of all, we believe in the dignity of the individual and treat our clients with respect and the very best regard.
