Important Information about the NYS EI Program

The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is a public program for children under the age of three who are either suspected of having or at risk for developmental delays or disabilities. Potentially eligible children must be referred to the county program to receive EIP services. EIP is funded by New York State and county governments.

Early Intervention provides service coordination, screening and evaluation and will authorize and approve the services for your child based on their eligibility.

For referral information you may contact the Growing Up Healthy Hotline telephone number (1-800-522-5006). You may also fill out this secure form and we will gladly provide you more information and assistance on referring your child to the program.

All EIP services are provided at no cost to parents. Health insurance may be used for approved services. A child's eligibility for the program can be determined only by state-approved evaluators under contract, and all services must be authorized by the county.

Ability Builders for Children is approved to provide Early Intervention Services in the following New York counties:

+ NYC (Manhattan, Kings, Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn and Staten Island)

+ Nassau
+ Suffolk
+ Westchester
